Episode 63 - Mental Health Check-In: Motherhood and the Pandemic

Each month, Still Becoming brings you a Mental Health Check-In episode. These episodes are focused on mental health, emotional health, or personal growth, and involve a short teaching and a few take aways in around 15 to 20 minutes. The idea is to take a therapeutic topic or technique and expand it to help us in our everyday lives.⁣

This week we are talking about Motherhood and the Pandemic. Maybe like you, I was sent the recent NYT series on motherhood during them pandemic that came out this week by so many people. This clearly hit a nerve - an underserved nerve that is not discussed enough. In addition to that, I have 2 guests on the podcast this month - Rachel Macy Stafford and Sissy Goff talking about parenting. I wanted to make some concrete space to discuss this topic. Being a mother, being a father, being a caregiver of any kid during this pandemic has been challenging. Although I highlight motherhood, this is applicable to all parents. In this real talk short episode I hope to add to the discussion and help you feel seen by naming some things and offering some tips. We are in this together.

The In-Between
Still Becoming with Monica DiCristina
Still Becoming is a podcast about how it's never too late to become more free, more yourself, or try something new. We are all in the process of becoming more or less of something, of growing into ourselves. Informed by her own journey of struggling through anxiety to now working with others as a psychotherapist, Monica DiCristina interviews people about their stories of overcoming and becoming, or starting something new, as well as experts we can all learn from. We are not designed to stay the same, we are all still becoming.
