Episode 41 - Interview With Tiffany Rogers: A Conversation about Therapy, Racial Trauma, and Creating Safe Spaces

I am so excited to have therapist and writer Tiffany Rogers on the Still Becoming podcast. Tiffany and I discuss her decision and journey to becoming a therapist, a story you won’t want to miss. We also discuss racial trauma, covert racism, and microaggressions. Tiffany shares some of her own personal experiences as a Black woman in the United States. We also discuss Tiffany’s powerful idea of creating safe spaces for Black people to share their stories. Knowing that this podcast has a diverse audience, my hope is that if you have overlaps with some of what Tiffany shares as a Black woman in this country that you would feel that safe space. If you do not have overlaps with that experience, my hope is that you would create that safe space and listen. Tiffany and I talk about rest and about joy, and she describes for us an important person that played a vital role in her expanding and becoming who she is today. Tiffany shares so much wisdom and insight, and I can’t wait for you to hear this conversation.⁣

Tiffany is a Chicago-based therapist and writer. She is passionate about helping individuals heal and improve their relationships with themselves and others. Tiffany has a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. After nearly 10 years in corporate communications and public relations, Tiffany decided to pursue a second career in mental health counseling to become more aligned with her personal values and sense of purpose. The In-Between
Still Becoming with Monica DiCristina
Still Becoming is a podcast about how it's never too late to become more free, more yourself, or try something new. We are all in the process of becoming more or less of something, of growing into ourselves. Informed by her own journey of struggling through anxiety to now working with others as a psychotherapist, Monica DiCristina interviews people about their stories of overcoming and becoming, or starting something new, as well as experts we can all learn from. We are not designed to stay the same, we are all still becoming.
