Hi! I am so glad to be back with you after a summer break! This is not a real picture of me đ, but is kind of what it felt like to rest this summer. I felt this cozy and relaxed, and I liked it:
How do you like our new newsletter home? Look around and tell me what you think - you can access old newsletters and all Still Becoming (new and old) podcast episodes in the âHomeâ or âArchivesâ Sections. (Just keep clicking on âThe In-Betweenâ at the top and you will find your way!)
A few thoughts on the In-Between for us this week - and what inspired the name -
I want this place to be a respite.
Weâre not often told this, but there is nothing wrong with not knowing, or just not knowing yet. There is nothing failed in being an unfinished version of yourself, or a hope, or a thought.
The in-between is what we are taught to run through, but its really where we live. The in-between is where we are often found -Â in a moment, in a sigh, in a knowing glance in a conversation.
The places we thought we should rush through, are often where we see ourselves.
Itâs ok to stop, and rest here awhile.
Because maybe here, in the in-between, is where you were trying to get without realizing. Just a chance to be present, to inhale and exhale, without having to accomplish a thing.
Being present here, isnât something you have to rush through, it can be the exhale after holding your breath.Â
You donât have to know everything yet to be ok.
You donât have to be fully formed to be ok.
You donât have to be fully decided, or have it all solved, or it all organized, or know it all to be ok.
In this in-between, you can be seen, exhale, and remember youâre fully worthy of love, right now.
I hope this newsletter will be a moment of reflection and therapy insights. But more than anything a loving rest stop in-between weeks, moments, and thoughts for you.
âĄ,
Monica
Things to Share:
In this 2 hour workshop Tasha and Monica will combine their years of training and therapeutic practice to address this all too often oversimplified question: What does it really mean to love yourself? This workshop is more heart talk then clinical lecture, and will include personal stories from both presenters. Tasha and Monica have created this workshop to answer the questions they often get, and to create a safe space that addresses one of the most foundational parts of mental health - loving and accepting yourself. Join us for teaching, mindful meditation moments, quiet reflections, and optional group conversation. The warmth and intention that led to the creation of this workshop will create the environment for a loving pause in your week for you. Sign up here.
