Let's Be "Tuesday People"....
(I wrote something like this on Instagram today, I see it as a mini-blogging, join me there?)
"Let's Be Tuesday People"
Let’s honor Martin Luther King Jr., his legacy and his work which we celebrated yesterday, by condemning white supremacy today and everyday.
It’s funny to share things online sometimes. I question it a lot - which I think is healthy, honestly. But as is my hope in all work I do, I hope to show up as my true self. And to use this corner for what matters most.
I want what I write to serve. And I don’t think you need me to quote another powerful MLK quote.
But it might be important on this Tuesday morning, for white supremacy to be specifically named and denounced by white people.
I kept thinking yesterday: I want to work (imperfectly) to be a “Tuesday person” - working to condemn white supremacy and fight against racism (the day after and beyond MLK day) in the places I am. Like here on this page, hi 👋🏼❤️.
As a human, mother, wife, therapist, and person of Christian faith who is white, I want to add my voice to name and denounce white supremacy. Words are important. And words with action are even more so.
I loved being on The Moxie podcast with Jenny Nuccio of Imani Collective.
What an incredible company and vision!

This is hands down the best podcast episode I have listened to in a year.
If you need help processing the Capitol riots, or the last year (or 4)... Please listen to Brené Brown discuss accountability and dehumanization.

Have you listened to the New Meditative Story episode out last week?
This one is very near to my heart, and helped me remember that a posture of trust and hope may not solve any worry, but helps us navigate it.
Episode 59: Returning to What You Forgot
I am sitting with this:
“White supremacy is not the elephant in the room. 𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮.”
