New Meditative Story Podcast Episode 📚
Hi friends,
Thank you to those who have written reviews! If you are able to give a review, it really helps the podcast keep going and gain momentum. If you do leave a review, please reply to this email so I can thank you personally!
Each month, Still Becoming will bring you a meditative story. These episodes are short, calming, and combine music with story. The hope is that we can all have a moment to breathe, listen, and reflect on our own story as we listen. It is like adult story time! I have renamed them Meditative Stories, so new listeners know more what to expect...what do you think?
Meditative Story Episode 49: The Power of Presence
This month we're talking about the power of presence to help ground us when we might be scared, or to help us find our courage. I tell a couple of stories in the big green station wagon, with fake wood panelling, my parents had when I was young. Two adventures on a regular drive to Alabama have me reflecting on the truth that a hand to hold, or a belief to ground you, can help you weather the real and metaphorical storms in your life.
Finally, here is the poem I read at the end of this episode:
"Give Me Your Hand"
God speaks to each of us as he makes us,
then walks with us silently out of the night.
These are words we dimly hear:
You, sent out beyond your recall,
go to the limits of your longing.
Embody me.
Flare up like flame
and make big shadows I can move in.
Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror.
Just keep going. No feeling is final.
Don’t let yourself lose me.
Nearby is the country they call life.
You will know it by its seriousnes.
Give me your hand.
~ Rainer Maria Rilke ~
With love,
Monica
