Technology, Truth, and Trust...💌
Hello! ♡
Our Still Becoming podcast is not updating on Apple Podcasts (I say our because it is ours more than mine, I make each episode with you in mind).
This is happening to a lot of podcasts right now - so if you listen there, you may have missed the last 2 episodes.
Let me tell you, this didn't bother me one bit, nope! because I am always so relaxed and really known for my complete calm at all times....ðŸ¤ðŸ˜‚
Unfortunately I did my my usual pattern of over-focusing on the problem, creating a bit of tunnel vision, a dash of anxiety, a sprinkle of irritability and zero trust - that would just be boring.
Oh, but I had a really good reason for this (right??), this week's interview with Terence Lester was one I have been SO excited to share with you all.
So my brain wore itself out a bit like a tantruming toddler, until I finally stopped to test out the ideas of truth +Â trust.Â
Truth - my feelings are valid. The timing of the Apple Podcasts issue was/is annoying. But in the grand scheme it is really more than ok. This episode is available so many other places for people to listen (my website, Google podcasts, Spotify in case you are looking!)
Trust - who needs/wants to hear this episode will. I believe in this work as a trust practice. I entrust important things to God. Trust is the opposite of performance.Â
So I settled back down into my self, and into trust (it is always so much better there).Â
And I abandoned the scarcity mindset...
So how about you this week? Where could you use a little Truth (validate and remember context) + Trust (resting in provision and timing)?
Read on for some things to listen to, read, and even something funny...
Mother's Day in the United States just passed recently. I had lunch alone with my mom at a restaurant on Friday. These things all felt like small miracles.
My article about motherhood was the Featured Article for Darling, let me know what you think?
What I Wish I Had Known About Motherhood.
AND, Mother's Day can be quite loaded for many. Wishing to be a mother, grieving a hard relationship with your own, or missing your mother....and so much more. As I continue growing, I feel more and more tender to the many layers each holiday/day/tradition may hold for each of us - the layers of experience are infinite. I wrote this before Mother's Day about some of the layers.Â
Recent episodes: (remember, not updated on Apple yet)
Episode 75: Boundaries 101: Answering Common Questions -Â
I love this episode, and have heard from so many about it. Boundaries is an underestimated foundation of mental health, and can be implemented with kindness.
Episode 76: Conversation with Terence Lester: We Are All Interconnected
I told you all about Terence Lester in a previous email, I am so honored to have this conversation with him and for us all to learn from all the work he is doing in the world. Have you listened yet?
Terence said, "If you're going to love your neighbor, you also have to love the place that shaped them, and you have to be concerned with the issues that shaped the neighborhood. You can't just love the neighbor and leave out the neighborhood."
Â
What I am learning:
This article about languishing during the pandemic in the New York Times, have you read it?
I wanted to share again the work of Love Beyond Walls, and the Dignity Museum, because they pair with this week's conversation with Terence Lester. There is so much to explore here
Something funny:
This is known as the video "mom laughs so hard about" in my house. This is for all the animal lovers. I clearly have a theme I appreciate.
Finally,
"go where you are welcomed. stay where you are watered."
