The Votes Are In!💫
Hello! ♡
The votes are in about the frequency of the newsletter. Thank you to everyone who responded! I absolutely loved hearing from you. I was really touched by your words, and really surprised how so many readers preferred weekly! And I also completely understand those who need more time between newsletters. I am going to try bi-weekly for now, let's see how it goes.
Therapist thoughts...💭
I am thinking a lot about what healing feels like lately. I wonder what it feels like for you? I wrote this on Instagram today about it.
Sometimes healing feels like coming home. Like the scent and feel of a place you always knew and loved, but didn't realize you'd forgotten....
Sometimes healing feels like victory. Like throwing off things, identities, or hurtful names that were never your's to carry in the first place. The victory is refusing to be, be called, or carry anything other than your the truth of your loveliness.
Sometimes healing feels gentle. Like calm, quiet, and rest after too much chaos and noise.
And I find that healing always feels like freedom. No matter what the form, the therapy modality, or part of you that is healing - when you are finding freedom you know you are on the right path.
Read on for some things to listen to, read, and even something funny...
Healing in relationships, the importance of boundaries, and some faith thoughts...
I loved getting to be a guest on other podcasts recently. My favorite thing about this work "out here in the world" is making new connections and friends.
♡IMbetween Podcast (Episode 140)
I loved being on the IMbetween Podcast, what an honor and what a fun conversation. We talked about 3 signs you might need couples therapy, listen here to Ep 140 and read excepts too!
Daniel and Christina, the hosts of the IMbetween Podcast, had the brilliant idea to model what couples therapy might look like - this is in the episode, but there's also a video of us modeling couples therapy here!
♡Surviving Sarah Podcast (Episode 260)
This conversation with Sarah Bragg about Boundaries was so fun. She structured it in a way to be really applicable!
♡Finally,
A new article for So Worth Loving on Faith and Spirituality.
The return of the Meditative Story Episodes!
If you are new here, these are my favorite types of episodes - like a calming adult story time, all designed to create a therapeutic and reflective experience for you.
This new one, Walking Through Gardens and Memories, touches on the grief that can come with the passing of time - even for good things, always for what no longer is.
From the Story:
It is a privilege, a great one, to be able to experience time moving forward. And maybe I am looking at it wrong to want to hold it all together. Like someone holding too many things in my hands, I feel like the memories drop through my arms in the rush of life. The urgent is always there, always pushing the important to the side or to the back.
This episode from the Throughline Podcast on Mass Incarceration is extremely informative and I can't recommend it enough.
This hilarious video from a dog advising human about toilet paper from the beginning of the pandemic still makes my family laugh hard. We watched it nearly a year ago - what a year... (And it is still funny)
